  • King’s Cross station today.

They are still searching for bodies trapped in the wreckage 100 feet below. I read in the paper this morning that the task is so horrific they have to take breaks in the work and even offer counselling to the rescue workers. What unspeakable horror.

I just felt I had to do something, so I went to King’s Cross this morning and placed a bunch of red roses in the memorial area next to the station.

This meant that I also took the tube and went on a double-decker bus in London today. It would be too strong to say I did it as an act of defiance, but you could say I did it as a statement: I won’t let the terrorists change how I do things. I even took bus number 30 this morning and went the same route as the bus that was attacked, sitting on the upper deck. This was definitely a symbolic thing. I could have taken bus 73 as it came first, but I decided to go on number 30 as a kind of protest.

Anyway, that was my way of honouring those who have died in this horrendous attack.

  • Kudos to you for taking the tube and the bus.
    That must have been hard.

  • Today many people here on Xanga decide to have a day of silence in tribute. I’m breaking my silence. But that is a good thing! Because I don’t want the terrorists to make me change anything in my life.  Silence is powerful it can conseal and hide and remind us of  lost life. But even more powerful are the words and actions it opens our minds and sets us free so we can remember to live.

That was a wonderful tribute. Thank you for sharing it with us. If only everyone could stand up and show these terrortists that they will never win. We will not allow them to destroy our way of life.

  • the last time I was in london I stayed in kings cross. I’ve got busy beautiful pictures of the area.

    its just so sad

  • Thank you for making that trip today. My heart was right there with you in these pictures.

  • I have a great admiration how the British are reacting at this horror, the media are really getting  well with it. The Queen is ok too and Blair was just perfect but mostly the normal are reacting the same way you did.

I think you did the right thing and  what about having problems in rooting in England? it looks that you are rooted very well in  the British style of life.

  • Thank you for posting these photos.

  • I understand the defiance.  I’m planning on returning to London next week to take my neice to Heathrow and we plan on finishing our sight-seeing schedule taking the tube and buses as well.  We can’t keep terror from disrupting our lives…  Good on you for taking that trip!!

  • I totally match with everything you’ve written. 5 2 7. This is all erroneous what you’re writing. 9 1 check. It can’t really have success, I suppose like this. 9 5 here. Hey, there’s so much useful material above!
